Philosophy

Education is a key factor for children's life, paving a way for their future.

Thus, I believe in making learning fun and exciting for children.

Every child's way of learning varies.

I will accept and understand them for who they are and help them develop to their utmost potential

Vision

To provide a web site which is user friendly and simple enough for the children to use.

The games on the web site have to be fun and exciting so that the children will enjoy and visit the web site again. At the same time, it has to be educational.

The first game is 'Bird Watcher'.

The first main aim of the activity is to allow the child to click and drag the various birds to its silhouettes and name.

The birds are coloured while the background is different shades of gray. However, with each correct match, the colour of the background will change to its original environment colour. (As shown in the picture below)

After the child has completed this task, there will be words of encouragement from the game, followed by instructions for the follow up activity. (As shown in the picture below)

The second main aim of the activity is for the children to click and match the name of the birds to its picture.

It will be the same coloured picture that the completed earlier on. (As shown in the picture- Do take note of the difference in the first picture and this picture.

This picture requires the children to match the name to the birds. [Purple words are to be dragged] )

After that, the picture will change to another setting and there will be other birds for the children to match.

The children will then learn about the other varieties of birds, their names and their habitats.

This is an evaluation for the web activity by a rubric:

The rating for this activity is that it is 'Effective'.

For this activity, i will engage 4 children at a time. This is because this activity is rather challenging and might need scaffolding.

I can use this for a main activity, during a math lesson. I will teach them the various shapes and how to identify each one.

Another alternative is to hand out the link to the children and ask them to play the game with their parents. Tell the parents to help scaffold if their child needs help.
