Philosophy

Education is a key factor for children's life, paving a way for their future.

Thus, I believe in making learning fun and exciting for children.

Every child's way of learning varies.

I will accept and understand them for who they are and help them develop to their utmost potential

Vision

To provide a web site which is user friendly and simple enough for the children to use.

The games on the web site have to be fun and exciting so that the children will enjoy and visit the web site again. At the same time, it has to be educational.

The second game is 'Bobber's Farm'.

The main aim of the game is to help Bobber on his farm.

There will be tasks related to math for the child to complete in order for them to help Bobber. The tasks posted to the child will sharpen his/her math skills as the child will need to recognize fractions, odd, even and prime numbers to get the job done.

To start off the game, the child will be warmly welcomed by a 'Welcome Note' (Picture 2.1) and the 'Task List' (Picture 2.2) by Bobber.

(Picture 2.1)

(Picture 2.2)

For the first task, Bobber will introduce his nephew; Todd and Steven to the child.

Todd's home is built with odd numbered blocks while Steven's home is with even numbered blocks.

So, the child will have to understand the meaning of odd and even to achieve this task. The houses and its settings are bright and attractive. (As seen in the picture below, it is mainly primary colours.)

For the second task, the children will have to differentiate composite and prime numbers and drag the wheel barrows to the correct side of the farm.

The right side of the farm will be all the composite numbers, while the left side will be all the prime numbers. (As shown in the picture below)

When the child have finished this, Bobber will encourage the child with "Well done!".

For the last task, the children will have to drag the correct quantity of food to the baskets in front of the animals to feed them. (As shown in the picture below, the sheep is eating its food as the number on the bowl has already been added up by the fractions.) From this task, the children will have to recognize fractions.

After that, Bobber will thank the child for doing an excellent job of feeding the animals. This will give the children a sense of achievement and self-confidence after completing the game.

This is an evaluation for the web activity by a rubric:

The rating for the activity is that it is 'Effective'.

If i were to integrate this activity to my lesson, i will allow the children to play this game as a follow up activity.

It will be good as it will act as a revision for the children in a fun, encouraging and challenging way.

After the game, i will discuss the activity with the children and ask them about their experience while playing it. The children can then relate to their emotions and enhance their emotional skills.

Another way is to allow the children to do it as a class. The children can then work together and solve the problems (math) together.

This will give the children opportunities to work together and improve on their social skills as well as math.

Also, by allowing the children to do it at home as a fun activity with their parents can create a bond within the parent and child. Not only that, but the children can learn about language, math and science during the bonding time.
